Safety

Case-less Technology, uses no gun powder at all. In fact, the casing is made up of malleable propellant formulation and when ignited acts as the charge to propel . The trigger releases a tiny electrical impulse to a sophisticated electrical primer, which in turn ignites the casing creating combustion in the firing chamber.

Outside of the firing-system, it is not possible to detonate the UCC propellant casing, booster or the UCC electrical primer by fire, impaction, friction, static electricity, stray-current, shock or “EMP” (Electro Magnetic Pulses). The above characteristics were verified during major cartridge stability tests carried out at the Frauenhofer Institute in Germany.

Conventional cartridges are in fact explosive when exposed to intense heat or brute force or pressure. The gun powder and sensitive primer, contained in each cartridge makes it highly explosive and the ramifications of an individual playing with cartridges outside of a firing-system, could be potentially fatal. If ignited by fire, it will explode and possibly ignite other cartridges nearby. Friction and static can also detonate a conventional round. Imagine, no more need to wear special socks over shoes to avoid sparks; and no more concern about exploding ordnance in the ship’s magazines.

( Explosion in magazine aboard the USS Iowa that killed 47 sailors )

However, when incinerated, the UCC propellant, booster and electrical primer are not explosive in nature at all. If placed in a fire or under intense heat they will burn much like the head of a match burns. If they are smashed with brute force, they merely crumble. U.C.C. Propellant product will ignite at (185 C) but will not detonate by friction or static.

The “semi-conductor-like” electrical primer is ignited electronically, but will not detonate accidentally because the current that causes the detonation must be of a specific voltage and amperage. The primer ignites a booster, which is seated in every cartridge that initiates the burning of the propellant, which burns completely from the inside outwards, creating the most progressive burning possible.

The electrical ignition system is particularly suitable for the development of weapons with Fingerprint or Voice Recognition technology. It can be also activated by a SIM-Card and making it only useful for a specific individual that is authorized to use the system.

With the Gas-leak Proof Chamber, the last hurdle in this development is also a safer solution for firing-systems. (No blow-back, stuck or broken casings)

There has never been any cartridge brought to market that can provide more safety, security and peace of mind.
